Cover up the slightly out of place wooden dash with our amazing real carbon fiber dash 'cap'. Available in a deep gloss and stunning satin/matte finish, this is a premium upgrade for your Model 3, which just take 10-15 minutes to do! If you're looking for a lower-price option, then we also have our vinyl wrap kits.
This cap fits directly over the existing wood (or white/black) dash strip on the Model 3, and ships with replacement dash-trim end pieces to ensure a great fit. Everything is made from hand-finished genuine carbon fiber (in a 2x2 twill wave, the same as used by Tesla on the spoilers and S/X dash trims). The gloss finish adds a stunning depth to the finish, and if you have the factory piano black finish on your center console, would be a good match. The satin/matte finish has a beautifully smooth and luxurious appearance, without being 'in your face'; just a very classy look.
Each dashcap ships with two end-caps that either match the grey finish of the dash, or made of real carbon fiber to match the dashcap. In either case, due to the additional thickness the cap adds to the dash, you must use the supplied end-caps, and not the factory end-caps.
Ships in a sturdy wooden box, with the dash cap, end pieces, adhesion promoter and gloves. If you don't have a trim removal tool, please watch the video before purchasing to see if you think you need a spudger.
Please watch one of the short videos before attempting the install, and please note the following:
- The dash cap is a fragile piece. Please move it around using the box it arrives in, and once you start to fit it, have someone else on-hand to help ensure the end doesn't knock into anything
- Ensure the surface of the dash is warm, this will help with adhesion. If you're installing when the weather is cold, please ensure the car is pre-heated, and the dash itself feels warm to the touch
- If the weather is cold, the optionally it doesn't hurt to use some masking (painters) tape just to hold it down while the adhesive takes hold.
- We also provide an adhesion promoter. This is optional, but we do recommend it. It does, however, mean that if you opt to remove the dash cap at a later date, some of the wood might lift as well. The good news is you can buy an entire new dash from Tesla for around $200, and it's quite easy to switch out the dash assembly.
