Installing the Trunk Sill Protectors
- Fold the rear seat backs down so you have better access to the trunk sill.
- Clean the sill area using the supplied cleaner and adhesion promoter.
- Peel the backing from the first protector.
- Set the protector in place using the main alignment point and the recess around the trunk closing mechanism, then shuffle it into position.
- Use your fingers against the end to push the protector as far toward that end as it will go.
- Press the protector down firmly along its length, paying attention to the back edge.
- Repeat for the second protector: peel the backing, line it up on the alignment point, pivot it down into the closing latch recess, and push it home.
- Close the trunk and check that it shuts correctly and the shut lines are even.
- If the trunk does not close correctly, adjust the trunk stops. There are two on each side, and they rotate in and out. Turn them in quarter-turn increments: clockwise winds a stop in, counterclockwise winds it out.
- Keep adjusting both sides as needed until the trunk closes properly and the shut lines are even.
