Installing the PPF Edge Guard

You will need a small pair of scissors and a mild cleaner that leaves no residue, such as isopropyl alcohol.

Tip: install PPF in temperate conditions, between 60°F and 80°F (16°C and 27°C).

1. Clean the door edge with isopropyl alcohol or another mild, residue-free cleaner. Let it dry.
2. Wash your hands before handling the strip.
3. Take one strip and peel the backing away from the adhesive at one end.
4. Hold the peeled end above the top of the door and use that section as your handle, so your fingers stay off the adhesive that will sit on the paint.
5. Start at the top of the door edge and lay the strip down with medium tension, steering it with your free hand and pressing it down with a finger as you go.
6. Work slowly so you don't trap bubbles. The visible upper section is best done in one pass. If a bubble forms, peel that section back and lay it again.
7. Keep the amount of film wrapping onto each side of the edge even all the way down. Follow the indent and creases in the door edge as you work down.
8. At the bottom, pull the strip over the lower edge and track it down to the end.
9. Trim the strip to length at the top and bottom with the scissors.
10. Roll the film around the door edge with your fingers or thumb, starting with the outer-facing side. Work slowly and press it down tight.
11. Optional: snip a small triangle out of the film at the bottom corner so it doesn't bunch up as you roll it around that side.
12. Continue rolling the edge over down the full height of the door, finishing with a tight edge all the way along.
13. Repeat on the remaining doors. One strip is long enough to cover a front door and a rear door.
