Please watch the 10 minute video, it'll show you everything you need for a successful installation. Oh, and watch out for the dust!

Installing the Ultra Premium Screen Protector

  1. Work outside in daylight if the weather allows — sunlight shows up dust. If you have to work inside, use bright light and check the screen carefully as you go.
  2. On the touchscreen, go to Display and turn on screen cleaning mode. This locks the screen so your fingers don't trigger anything.
  3. Turn off the climate control. Air blowing through the cabin moves dust onto the screen.
  4. If you have an existing screen protector fitted, grab a corner and peel it back off the screen.
  5. Wipe the whole screen with the supplied alcohol wet wipe. This also removes some of the static from the glass.
  6. Dry and polish the screen with the supplied lint-free cloth.
  7. Snap the installation frame around the screen. The frame is marked with a top indicator at the top and a logo at the bottom. It's a snug fit, so work it over the edges of the screen.
  8. Take the screen protector out of the box and do a dry run: rest it inside the frame to see how it drops into place. Check that the removal tab for the rear protective film is in the top left corner, and that the curved edge is at the bottom. Handle the protector by its edges.
  9. Lift the protector back out. Go over every part of the screen with the dust grabbers and remove any remaining dust.
  10. Hold the protector close to the screen and peel off the rear protective film. Do not touch the back of the glass — finger oil will leave marks you'll see permanently.
  11. Set the peeled film down well away from the screen. It carries a lot of static.
  12. Present the bottom edge of the protector to the bottom of the frame, tipping the top of the glass up slightly so it isn't laying down yet. Check it is centered in the frame.
  13. Run a finger up the middle of the protector. The adhesive will spread out from the center to the edges.
  14. Carefully remove the frame from around the screen.
  15. Use the lint-free cloth to work across the protector until it has bonded all the way to the far end. Move slowly and deliberately throughout this part of the install.
  16. Press and hold to exit screen cleaning mode, then check that the touchscreen responds normally.

If any bubbles remain and you're sure there's no dust or hair trapped underneath, leave them for a day or two — they generally work themselves out. If they don't, get in touch.

If the screen is jittery after installation, reboot the car: hold both steering wheel scroll wheels and press the brake pedal. Everything will shut down. When the logo appears on the center screen — which can take a minute or so — release the buttons. The screen will recalibrate as the car restarts.
