Caliper Covers

Please watch the video below. If you know how to use a jack, feel free to use the chapters to skip to the actually installation - they're really easy, but do pay attention to how they clamp on to the calipers.

Preparation:

1. Gather Your Tools:
2. • 21mm socket, ideally with a nylon sheath (to avoid scratching wheels) [01:47]
   • Lug guides (optional - to help with wheel removal and installation) [02:15]
   • Impact wrench or breaker bar (for removing lug nuts) [02:37]
   • Torque wrench (for reinstalling lug nuts to the correct specification - 205nm or 151lb ft) [02:44]
   • 3-ton jack (or similar, suitable for lifting one corner of the truck) [03:11]
   • Gloves (wheels can be dirty) [10:16]
   • Microfiber cloth and alcohol spray or glasses cleaner (for cleaning caliper covers before applying decals) [04:29]
2. Prepare the Caliper Covers:
3. • Choose your decal design (graffiti or beast logo) and color (white for red/black covers, black for white covers). [03:47]
   • Clean the surface of the caliper cover with alcohol spray and a cloth. [04:34]
   • Carefully peel the backing off the decal. [05:05]
   • Align and apply the decal to the caliper cover, ensuring it's centered. The surrounding part of the decal is for alignment and optional to install. [05:16]
   • Use a cloth to apply firm, even pressure to the lettering. [05:32]
   • Slowly peel off the transfer tape. [05:54]
   • Repeat for all four caliper covers. [07:18]
3. Prepare the Vehicle:
4. • Engage "Jack Mode" on the vehicle's touchscreen. [07:33]
   • Set the vehicle's suspension to the highest setting. [07:43]

Front Caliper Cover Installation:

1. Lift the Vehicle and Remove the Wheel:
2. • Position the jack under the designated jack point. [08:07]
   • Loosen the lug nuts slightly before fully lifting the wheel. [08:33]
   • Jack up the vehicle until the wheel is just clear of the ground. [09:31]
   • Remove the lug nuts and the wheel.  [10:13]
2. Install the Front Caliper Cover:
3. • Identify the correct caliper cover for the side you're working on. [10:44]
   • Take one bolt and two clamping mechanisms from the "front" baggie. [10:50]
   • Pre-thread the bolt through the caliper cover and into the clamping mechanism. The smaller part of the clamp faces outwards. [11:11]
   • Position the caliper cover onto the vehicle's caliper, ensuring the clamping mechanisms lock into the recesses on the caliper. [12:29]
   • Ensure there is no movement or flex once positioned. [12:40]
   • Use the supplied Allen wrench to tighten the bolts on the clamping mechanisms. Tighten them evenly, ensuring the cover remains securely in place. [13:05]
   • Tighten until you feel significant resistance and the wrench starts to slightly bend. The cover should be rock solid. [14:19]
3. Reinstall the Wheel:
4. • Use lug guides to help align and hang the heavy wheel. [14:45]
   • Install the lug nuts by hand first. [16:04]
   • Lower the vehicle. [17:18]
   • Use a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque: 205 Newton-meters or 151 pound-feet. Tighten in a star pattern. [02:57]
   • Reinstall any lug nut covers. [18:37]
   • It's recommended to recheck the torque after driving 50-100 miles. [18:22]

Rear Caliper Cover Installation:

1. Prepare for Rear Installation:
2. • The rear caliper cover installation uses two clips, two washers, and two lock bolts per caliper. [19:01]
2. Install the Rear Caliper Cover:
3. • Position the rear caliper cover onto the vehicle's caliper. Ensure it's rock solid with no flex. [19:48]
   • The clips go behind the caliper, locking into the inside edges. [19:55]
   • Hook the clips onto the caliper. [20:17]
   • Place the caliper cover over the clips.
   • Insert the lock bolts with washers through the caliper cover and into the clips. [20:23]
   • Tighten the bolts evenly with the supplied Allen wrench until the cover is secure and the wrench starts to bend. [20:43]
3. Reinstall the Wheel:
4. • Follow the same procedure as the front wheel for reinstalling the wheel, using lug guides and torquing the nuts to 205 Newton-meters or 151 pound-feet. [21:48]
