Please refer to the quick video below. Although it probably appears you just drop it in, it's important to give it a couple of little twists, as this will ensure it expands in your cupholder, and stays in place with larger cups/bottles.
Fitting the Cupholder Insert
- Check fitment. The insert is for cars with the second-generation center console — typically 2020–2024 Model 3 and 2021–2025 Model Y.
- Hold the insert in both hands and twist it back and forth a few times to flex it before it goes in. This is what lets it expand against the cupholder walls and stay put.
- Note that the insert has a front and a back. Line it up with the cupholder opening and slot it in. If it looks wrong or doesn't sit right, turn it around and try again.
- Press it down into place. It holds by friction, so nothing else is needed.
To clean it, hook it out with your fingers. It lifts out easily, and drops back in the same way.
