Installing the Trunk Sill Protector
- Clear the loading area. Move the trunk mat and anything else sitting near the sill out of the way.
- Start at the right side. Feed the front edge of the protector under the rubber weather seal along the top of the trunk opening, so the Velcro strip on the underside sits over the carpeted sill.
- Work along the sill from right to left, tucking the edge under the weather seal with your fingertips. A trim tool makes this easier on your fingers if you have one.
- Press the protector down onto the carpet so the Velcro strip is fully stuck along its length. Check the far end is stuck down against the carpet too.
- Put the lower trunk cover back in place.
- Close the trunk to test it. The protector adds a little depth to this area, so make sure the trunk latches normally.
- If the trunk bounces back open, turn the rubber bumper stops in or out to adjust the closing pressure, then test again.
